Hermès Rocabar Eau de Toilette, 100ml at John Lewis & Partners
-
Detail
Composed by perfumer Gilles Romey in 1998, Rocabar is inspired by the equestrian world. A contraction of the English word ‘rug’ and the French words ‘à barres’ (meaning ‘striped’), its name alludes to the traditional horse blanket in saffron-coloured wool with red and blue stripes manufactured in the Hermès workshops.
\nWith a woody, amber character, Rocabar eau de toilette for men combines the warm notes of cedar with lively cypress and enveloping, balmy benzoin.
\nThe bottle, inspired by the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages, has a black cap reminiscent of a riding hat. The back label is illustrated with a design by Philippe Dumas, indicating that it belongs to the Parfums-Fondateurs collection.
\nThe Parfums-Fondateurs Collection: The Parfums-Fondateurs collection draws inspiration from the house’s heritage. Each THE CREATION encapsulates Hermès’ imaginary world in a name, a fragrance and a colour. Over the years, Hermès has pioneered a bold style of perfumery, resulting from encounters with exceptional perfumers.
